Post 4: Career related topic

When I finished studying at school, I felt very insecure and did not know what to study. My two options were: Cinema and TV or Journalism. I like watching movies, literature, writing and communications in general, so I had a hard time deciding. Finally I decided on Cinema and TV and entered the University of Chile. I studied Cinema for a year and a half and then decided to change to Journalism. When I was studying cinema, I realized that really more than making movies, I liked watching movies and writing about movies. I also realized that my favorite area was documentary film. For these reasons I decided to change to Journalism in the same University of Chile. The career of Journalism I like very much because it covers all my interests. I really like written journalism and also audiovisual journalism. Audiovisual journalism has allowed me to develop my documentary interest. Another area that fascinates me is investigative journalism, reports and chronicles. In general the texts that re...

Post 3: The wife

I really like the cinema and for this reason I have a hard moment choosing my favorite film or director. But today I will talk about the last movie that I liked and I was surprised. "The wife" tells the story of the marriage made up of Joan Castleman (played by Glenn Close) and Joe Castleman (played by Jonathan Pryce). Both are seniors and writers. The film begins when Joe Castleman wins the Nobel Prize for Literature and then they travel together to Sweden to receive the award. Later we learned that Joe had not written any of his books and that his wife wrote the books for him. She made this decision when she was young because she thought that she would not triumph in literature just because she was a woman. The film ends in an unexpected way. What I really liked about the movie is the performance of Glenn Close. She plays Joan incredibly and movie critics say that she may win the Oscar for this performance. I also liked the topic that the film address, that is, the fear th...

Post 2: Puerto Natales

In the summer of 2014 I traveled to Puerto Natales, a city in the extreme south of Chile. I traveled with my mother, two cousins and the son of one of my cousins to visit my older sister Paula. My sister has lived there since 2012 because she went to work as a cook at a hotel in Parque Nacional Torres del Paine. It was a wonderful trip because I had never traveled so far with my mom because our family vacations used to be on the beaches of the Valparaíso . Also the trip was very exciting because it was the first time that I was traveling by plane. We took a plane to the city of Punta Arenas and there we took a bus that took us to Puerto Natales. We stayed a week in this city. During these days we knew the small city and we walked along the Costanera from which we could see the sea and some beautiful hills such as Cerro Benitez and Cerro Tenerife. My sister also took us to eat at amazing restaurants. The best day of the trip was when we went to Parque Nacional Torres del Paine ...

Post 1: I would like to go to Los Uros

I would like to go to Peru and visit “Los Uros”. “Los Uros” are on Titicaca Lake and are a set of thirty floating islands made of totora, a floating aquatic plant. This place really attracts me because there are people who live in these floating islands and all the constructions are made of totora. I want to go to this place because my peruvian friend Sheyla showed me pictures of this place and I thought it was very beautiful. She also told me it was a very entertaining ride.  The people who live in "Los Uros" are descendants of a civilization that is older than the Incas and who used to live in Uro Lake (Bolivia) before the Incas tried to conquer them. I would like very much to travel to this place and have the opportunity to know the way of life of this ancient civilization. This trip must be an extraordinary adventure.  To visit these islands is necessary to take a boat in the city of Puno. My friend Sheyla recommended that I hire a tour beforehand. The trip...
